What Is Chip's Promise?

Chip’s Promise is my commitment to dogs like Chip and Juzai and to the people who love them.

It’s the promise to do better, be honest about what I’ve learned, and protect the emotional and physical safety of every dog in my care. It’s about taking everything I’ve been through

with my own dogs the wins, the mistakes, the heartbreak and turning it into real, practical support for you and your dog.

Chip's Way

The Promise In Action

Trust Over Control — I earn behavior. I don't take it. Every dog gets the time and space to build real trust before anything else is asked of them.

No Shame — You are met exactly where you are. Mistakes are part of this. What matters is what you do next.

Evidence Meets Experience — I stay current on behavior science and I consult with experienced trainers and specialists. But I also bring the real thing: hands-on experience, up close and personal, that no certification can fully replace.

Ongoing Education — I don't believe in fixed expertise. Dogs are complex, the science evolves, and I will keep learning — because Chip deserved someone who never stopped.

This started with one dog. It belongs to all of them now.

The Future of Chip's Promise

A Facility focused on Training and rehabilitation

In the long run, Chip’s Promise aims to grow into a dedicated rehabilitation and training facility for shelter dogs who are often overlooked, mislabeled, or returned simply because they never received the support they needed. This future space will focus on dogs with challenging histories — especially breeds at higher risk of euthanasia due to fear, stress, or misunderstood behavior.

The goal is to create a calm, structured environment where these dogs can decompress, learn, and rebuild trust. Alongside rehabilitation, the facility will offer sliding‑scale training programs for families who love their dogs but can’t afford traditional behavior services. No one should lose their dog because help was out of reach.

This long‑term vision also includes education for new adopters and fosters, giving them the tools to safely and confidently support dogs with big feelings or complex needs.

One day, Chip’s Promise will be a place where overlooked dogs get a real chance and where the people who believe in them get the support they deserve.

This is for Chip. That's where it starts and that's where it always comes back to.

It's for Juzai — who is still here, still healing, and still teaching me things every day.

It's for every guardian who has stood at the end of a leash, overwhelmed and embarrassed, because their dog reacted in public and they didn't know what to do and nobody offered real help, just judgment. I've been there. I know what that feels like.

It's for the people who made mistakes because they trusted the wrong person, or because they were desperate for something that worked, or because nobody gave them the right information at the right time. That's not a character flaw. That's a gap in support. That's exactly what I want to fill.

And it's for the dogs — the ones who get labeled "dangerous" because they're scared. The ones who've been given up on. The ones who are sitting in someone's home right now, full of potential, with a guardian who loves them and doesn't know where to turn.
